Arts on the Green, Maples Park, Crestwood, Kentucky

Welcome to Arts on the Green (AOG), a juried Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, which benefits the Arts Association of Oldham County (AAOC) - a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and is in its 21st year!

We have confirmed our new location, The Maples Park in Crestwood, Ky. This location will be able to safely accommodate all of our artists, provide opportunities for our attendees to  socially distance, and will meet all of our other festival needs - including entertainment (if safely feasible), food trucks, adult beverages from our sponsor West Sixth Brewing, a planned schedule of artist demonstrations and (hopefully - if safely feasible) children’s art activities.

Because of the cancellation of our event in 2020 (and many other art festivals and events), the excitement and anticipation of what is to come for AOG 2021 is palpable! AOG and AAOC are all ready to provide you with a safe, fun and family friendly cultural community experience - one that will continue to be a favorite among both visitors and artists, alike!

Saturday 11 a.m. til 7 p.m.

Sunday 11 a.m. til 5 p.m.

RC Cola & Moon Pie Festival, Bell Buckle, Tennessee

In 1992, in honor of MoonPie’s 75th anniversary, Bell Buckle (population 405) offered to throw the regional treat a birthday party. The celebration was so successful that it’s become an annual festival still going strong more than 25 years later. Attendees pour into Bell Buckle’s downtown for live music, dancing, contests, games, a parade, and the ceremonial cutting of the world’s largest MoonPie. Free sweet sandwiches and sodas are distributed in abundance. If all this sugar-based revelry sounds a bit hedonistic, consider signing up for the festival’s kick-off event. It’s much easier to rationalize eating a deep-fried MoonPie after completing the morning’s main activity: the RC-MoonPie 10-Mile Run. (From www.atlasobscura.com)
